Press release: Alex Jelly joins =mc
=MC BOOSTS FUNDRAISING CONSULTANCY TEAM WITH NEW APPOINTMENT - ALEX JELLY
The Management Centre (=mc) – the UK’s leading not-for-profit consultancy and training provider – is announcing the appointment of Alex Jelly as Fundraising Consultant. Having worked in-house with a number of leading charities including Shelter, CARE International, Addaction and Green Alliance, and as a former consultant, Alex brings over 10 years experience of major gift, trust and corporate fundraising to the team at =mc. She is reporting to Deputy Director Angela Cluff and is already ensconced in strategic fundraising reviews for 2 major UK charities.
Recruited from Green Alliance, where she was employed as Fundraising Manager, Alex established the first professional fundraising strategy and function at the charity. She advised the organisation on how to meet its fundraising needs, as well as providing fundraising and relationship-development training for policy staff.
Having started out as a volunteer with Addaction in 1998, Alex was first recruited by The Environment Council in 1999 as Fundraising Co-ordinator, where she brokered a partnership with National Grid for £60,000: their (then) highest ever charity sponsorship deal. She then completed 6 month maternity cover as Trusts Funding Officer with Care International before being appointed at Shelter as Major Donor Fundraiser from 2001 to 2003. Working with Compton International Ltd for the next 3 years, she managed a number of major capital and endowment campaigns, including a £20 million campaign for the RSA.
Alex Jelly, Fundraising Consultant at The Management Centre, says: “Having worked in fundraising for most of my professional life, I still find it a real thrill to raise money for a cause that I believe in. At The Management Centre, I have a fantastic opportunity to lend my skills and experiences to wide-ranging charities and to work strategically - with staff and management teams as well as Trustees.”
Angela Cluff, Principal Fundraising Consultant at The Management Centre adds: “Alex brings a wealth of experience to The Management Centre and I look forward to working with her to share this expertise with our clients.”
