At the moment

I’m spending a lot of time at the moment delivering project management and leadership training for organisations as diverse as the RNLI, Canterbury City Council, the Zoological Society of London and the World Wildlife Fund. My time is split between delivering programmes of work and working with organisations to develop new ones. I’m currently working to develop some new training and coaching options around public speaking and vocal impact.

Before =mc

I started my working life as an Actor and was fairly successful in theatre, T.V and radio for a number of years – but ultimately it wasn’t the life for me! However, the experience has been a great help to me as a communicator and a trainer.

From the mid-nineties I worked as a Grants Assessor and Manager for organisations such as the National Lottery Charities Board, the DMF and the Arts Council, so I have a strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector and it’s needs. Following a stint at the Health Foundation as International Programme Manager I studied for an MA and subsequently became a freelance trainer.

Working for =mc has allowed me to combine all aspects of my career to date – I use my experience of the not-for-profit sector, my communication skills and my passion for people’s development and progression.

Our work with =mc has really exceeded our expectations. They helped us to create a new groundbreaking strategy which achieved astonishing levels of alignment and engagement amongst a diverse international organisation.

Caroline Harper, CEO, Sightsavers

We've used the =mc team to help frame and resolve several major strategic issues for us at the Red Cross and the wider networks we're involved in. With them you can be sure of a mixture of clear and critical thinking – plus that essential added extra value of creativity.

Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising, British Red Cross

=mc has a wealth and breadth of knowledge, a terrific understanding and vast experience of the ethos and culture of the not-for-profit sector. This together with their 'anything is possible' approach made =mc an obvious choice for the RNLI to partner with, to develop and deliver in-house training for our staff.

Marie Smith, Training and Development Manager, RNLI
