My areas of expertise:

  • creating fundraising strategies to deliver significant financial growth
  • developing communication programmes that strengthen relationships with donors
  • building strong fundraising teams in multicultural organisations

At the moment

I am helping the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Maikhanda to develop a fundraising strategy as part of a broader plan for the organisation to become fully autonomous. Maikhanda is an inspirational organisation based in Malawi working to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.

Before =mc

I started my career as a typographer but found my true calling working in the marketing department of The Royal Shakespeare Company. When I moved to the world-renowned Central St Martins College of Art, I secured a number of new corporate donors and caught the fundraising bug.

Thereafter I implemented successful fundraising growth strategies in the UK and overseas for a range of organisations including Plan International, the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust and Greenpeace Australia Pacific. Whilst in Australia I formed the Fair Fees Action Group, a coalition of over 40 not-for-profit organisations including Oxfam and RSPCA. The group worked with banks to increase the volume of donations from the general public.

I have taken part in a number of Greenpeace actions and strongly believe that we need to protect the planet for future generations.

I am passionate about working with not-for-profit organisations as I believe the work they do makes the world a better, more equitable, more sustainable place in which to live. I get great satisfaction from tackling significant strategic challenges and creating innovative and practical solutions. It is therefore a great privilege to work as a consultant with =mc because I have the opportunity to collaborate with so many committed people in a diverse range of inspiring organisations.
