Targeting learning

You need to decide how to target learning so that the right people learn in the right way. Do all of your people need developing? And if so, do they all need the same sort of development? You might want to deliver learning across your organisation in different formats – training programmes for frontline staff, with smaller facilitated workshops for the senior management team.

You should also consider the order in which you structure your programme – top-down, starting with senior staff, or bottom-up, from the frontline? =mc can help you shape your initiative to target the learning.

For example, when working with the Uganda office of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance we combined strategic planning workshops for senior staff with personal effectiveness training for managers.

You can really see the positive effect =mc’s training has had at the Authority. Staff have been able to directly apply the learning to their work and we continue to successfully implement the tools and techniques at all levels. The support from =mc has been fantastic, both pre and post course, and we’ll definitely come back for help with our future training needs.
