Leading and Managing Change

View Leading and managing change training

Lead a change process with confidence

Managing change is one of the most challenging activities anyone can take on – whether as a senior manager, a team leader, or an HR professional.

This intensive 1-2 day programme shares =mc’s practical consulting experience helping a wide range of large and small agencies to develop effective change programmes – from NSPCC to Royal British Legion, to Glasgow City Council and Cambridge Assessment. As part of the programme you’ll be able to work on own change programme as well as understand the key dos and don’ts.

All our public training is scheduled when enough demand is there, so please register your interest here, and we'll let you know as soon as a new date is set.
Yes, and also face to face. It's equally suitable for both options. For more information on the differences between online and face to face training, visit our Learning and Development page.
If you have 6 or more people to train it's worth getting in touch to discuss in-house options.

These include:
  • your choice of structure – as well as choosing dates to suit you, you can also decide whether to have the content delivered in full days, half-day sessions or bitesize sessions over separate days.
  • tailoring options – if you're looking to focus on particular elements of the programme, we can look into this.
  • self-directed learning – this enables participants to set learning goals, acquire knowledge and skills, set their own actions and evaluate themselves using a customised web portal which we'll build for you.
In order to make sure your in-house training needs are met, the best way to start this process is with a conversation (for free of course). Contact us online or call 020 7978 1516 to speak to one of our experienced consultants.

Based on =mc’s adaptation of Kotter’s well-established model, this programme provides a solid framework to start or shape a change process, or to re-energise a faltering one. As part of a rigorous eightphase approach, participants learn to identify change drivers and approach different types of change. They also explore the ‘softer’ side, including how to use emotional intelligence in change. Participants have the opportunity to complete the =mconline change-readiness audit on their organisation.

Who is the programme for?

This intensive one day programme is for individuals charged with running a change programme – HR professionals, change agents, team leaders, CEOs or heads of department.

  • “This day has been very relevant to where we are as an organisation right now. Understanding how we can practically apply the Kotter model, and the different tools and approaches we have to choose from will be invaluable in tackling our current challenges.”

Jon Cole, Assistant Director, External Relations, NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC)

  • “A great investment. After just a day I have a clear understanding and appreciation of the issues involved in implementing change. I’ve also gained invaluable insights into avoidable pitfalls and what makes good practice.”

Liz Tremain, Senior Programme Manager, NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC)

  • “What can I say? An excellent course – engaging and informative. I have a much stronger grasp on Kotter now and will be more mindful of the stages of leading change. And perhaps more patient!”

Paul Richards, Head of People and Organisational Development, Independent Age

  • “Leading and Managing Change was more than a good refresher course – it helped me identify key priorities and allowed me to evaluate a range of tools to deliver change processes and troubleshoot effectively. I would definitely recommend this programme.”

Paul Valentin, International Director, Christian Aid
