salary & rewards

We are committed to rewarding and recognising staff for excellent ongoing performance, in a fair and equitable manner. Your base starting salary as a Learning and Development Consultant, will begin at £35,000 (as at 2021). Salaries for non-consultant roles will depend on the role and experience; we will always publish salaries when we advertise roles.

We encourage results and success at =mc and we’re keen to reward them. We have a reward system designed to help everyone who works at =mc Learning to share in overall business success. Your base salary will be reviewed every year in February after one year in post. You will be shown the salary bands for your role.  Finally we have an annual performance-related profit share, again based upon your contribution.

You can opt to work full or part-time. Your holiday allowance is 25 days plus public holidays (pro-rata for part-time employees).

As a learning and development consultant this will mean acquiring and being able to deliver several core =mc programmes – in leadership, personal effectiveness, communications etc. – as well as training in presentation skills. To begin with you’ll deliver our standard training programmes and work on tailored in-house initiatives. Within six months, we’d expect you to be fully up and running and delivering core programmes on Project Management, Management Development and Personal Effectiveness programmes, whether with local authorities, international development agencies or small arts organisations. You’ll also be expected to deliver standard programmes in specific fields such as Fundraising or Communications.

Outstanding Consultants will have opportunities to develop and become:

  • Senior Consultants, responsible for business winning, managing specific projects and supporting team development
  • engaged in business planning processes and have a real impact on the future direction and success of =mc

For other roles, we will provide continuous investment in your professional and personal development.

There is no one path that is exactly the same for every person who joins =mc. You’ll be offered as much responsibility as and when you want and can manage. And your development programme will be tailored to your needs.

We also ensure we develop as a team. This means regular team meetings, and creativity sessions where we develop our offers and our business. We regularly get together to share ideas on the new business and marketing plans, relax, learn new techniques collectively and share ideas.
