For over twenty years Laurence Brady has contributed to the UK voluntary sector as a charity chief executive; director; trustee; manager; fundraiser; and consultant. In recent years he has specialised in a combination of major gift fundraising strategy, interim management and mentoring.
As a Scottish-based senior associate of =mc, his clients have ranged from theManchester Art Gallery to Sue Ryder and Scottish Refugee Council. He has recently conducted the largest ever study of fundraising in the Middle East and North Africa forSIDA and Tamasi, and collective of performing arts organisations working across Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan.
I’m supporting a major hospice in an interim role helping them develop individual giving and also working with a local authority arts and culture team on a long term programme to help them grow HNWI for a new arts centre. My big project in the Middle East involved two long and intensive trips- and experiencing first hand the challenges faced by organisations working on freedom of expression
The charities with whom Laurence has worked include Cancer Research UK, The Prince’s Trust, The Mark Scott Foundation, Scottish Ballet and The National Trust for Scotland.
Laurence is also a published author with two best selling books on philanthropy and runs a foundation- The Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation- promoting involvement in sailing by young people.
