Building teams through effective facilitation

=mc away days help teams explore new ways of working and communicating with each other through guided activities and expert facilitation.

Following an initial scoping call, each programme is tailor-made according to the time available and the learning outcomes needed by the team. Elements might range from tools and techniques to improve communication skills, to exploring team strengths and weaknesses, to problem solving – and many more. Through a mix of expert input, practical exercises and focused feedback, the facilitator will challenge perceptions, encourage creative thinking and make sure everyone is both involved and has fun.

Who is it for?

Teams that want to improve how they work together. We are happy to work with individual teams who want to focus on developing themselves, or to bring several teams together to encourage cross-organisational working.

Outcomes for you and your organisation

An energised team – or teams, with ideas they can easily and readily apply to real-work challenges. Improved relationships between individuals and a better understanding of the team dynamics, and commitments made to working together in new ways going forwards.

How it works

Every team is different, which is why we are not offering an ‘off the shelf’ solution, but a tailor-made programme, using established tools and techniques for building teams. Included in the cost is the facilitator’s initial scoping call to you to talk about any particular challenges the team are facing, and to clarify the outcomes the you would like to achieve from the session. We then send an outline for the session/day showing the elements we discussed and agreed expected outcomes.

Among the options we can offer are:

  • a 2-hour session to improve communication in your team – through energising activities, group learning and proven tools. This particularly suits new or emerging teams who want to get to know one another better.
  • A half-day session using established tools such as Learning Styles or Social Styles. These tools help participants to create self-identified profiles, which in turn examine the roles and contributions of team members, identifying strengths, areas for development and potential sources of conflict. This particularly suits established teams working in changing environments, looking to improve how they work together.
  • A full day programme, where participants also explore their team mission and devise plans to achieve this. The session focusses on planning ahead and aids group decision-making. It particularly suits teams that have experienced change, upheaval or want to spend more time on planning for future change.

– and of course many more.
